JUST ANOTHER UPDATE, BUT A BIT QUICKER THIS TIME
Tuesday, 14th April 2020 So, 23 days have gone by since my last post. We and the country are still in total lockdown. Only essential services are open - supermarket, chemist, post office and hospitals etc. Only permitted out for food and medicines and one hour's exercise (per day). As of this morning, 93,873 people in the U.K. have tested positive for coronavirus (was 6,650 23 days ago) and 12,107 have died (was 335 back in March). [The death toll in Scotland is currently 615 and is included in the total deaths figure mentioned]. All quite frightening. We couldn't have stopped the pandemic, but we should have been much better prepared and started the planning etc. much quicker than we did. This Tory government has made a total mess of this crisis, which has also not been helped by the fact that the NHS was stripped of much funding during the previous 10 years of austerity, which the Tories thought would be a good idea and which in fact has come back to bite them in the ars...
